Horror Subgenres
Nowadays the horror genre is huge and a lot of subgenres have appeared through the time. In this posts we are going to see some of those subgenres with a famous example of each one.
Slasher:
This is one of the most famous subgenres of horror.
Its main characteristic is the figure of a serial killer that chases after the
protagonists, who are usually teenagers or young adults in a “vacation”
setting.

In this case we have a subgenre that is set in natural

Gore:
This one is not for the faint of heart. Its main

Cursed Dolls:
This is not considered as a subgenre of horror by some
people, but today there are enough movies dealing with this theme that I wanted
to include it. As the name suggests, this subgenre deals with a doll or a
puppet that is usually possessed or cursed.

Psychological horror:
The psychological horror sybgenre is very different
from the rest. It usually doesn’t show any outside threats like a serial killer
or a ghost. It is centered around the fears of the protagonists, like traumas,
guilts, supersticios or beliefs.
